DNA Testing

Importance of DNA Testing

Unfortunately, not many methods exist to accurately verify kinship between adoptees and birth family members.  A DNA test, however, is the most accurate process available to families to confirm their relationship.  At G.O.A.'L, the DNA test is the last step in the BFS process once an adoptee has either found or been found by the (potential) birth family.

DowGene Labratories

G.O.A.'L is able to provide DNA tests to adoptees and (potential) birth families through a partnership with DowGene, a Korean company.  We have access to both free and discounted testing.  If you would like more information about the process and costs of DNA testing, please contact the Birth Family Search Department
