On Saturday, April 25th, Global Overseas Adoptees' Link (G.O.A.'L) opens its doors to the new "Korean Adoptee Center" (해외입양인센터) and our new office space to the public. This is the first "Korean Adoptee Center" of this kind that is run by Korean adoptees themselves. Everyone is welcome to come take a look and to show support to our shared Korean adoptee community here in Korea.
- Light food and soft drinks will be served.
- Donations* are welcomed and greatly appreciated!
The Korean Adoptee Center is a space created FOR the Korean adoptee community. All adoptees, their friends and family members (adoptive or biological) are welcome here. We hope that all adoptees can both enjoy use of the space and also contribute to its development.
Currently, the following programs are running at the Korean Adoptee Center:
- Korean Language Education (G.O.A.'L Korean School, individual studies etc.)
- Working space with 4 desks with computers and internet access
- Meeting space for Korean adoptee organizations
- Meeting space between Korean nationals and Korean adoptees
- English Classes for Birth Family Members
- Library with Korean language books (provided by G.O.A.'L)
- Workshops (Art Therapy, Dialogue on Identity & Race, Post-Reunion etc.)
- Working space for Korean adoptee artists including small exhibitions from time to time
If you have additional ideas or comments on how to use the "Korean Adoptee Center" please let us know by writing to info@goal.or.kr
