Change of Driver's Licence


If you're a US citizen and resident of Korea (F4 Visa) you can change your driver's licence easily.

Please visit the Seoul Global Center (http://global.seoul.go.kr) which is located directly behind City Hall on the 3rd Floor of the Seoul Press Center.

You need the following:

  • - your US Driver's Licence (not expired)
  • - your F4 ID
  • - your passport
  • - 3 passphotos

With the F4 Visa you are excempt from any tests with the exception of an eyesight test. The whole procedure takes about 1 hour.

Opening hours of the Seoul Global Center:

Monday through Friday 9a.m. - 4.30p.m.

Please keep in mind that you will have to hand in your US Driver's Licence and you will only get it back when returning your Korean driver's licence.
