2024 1st Semester Overseas Adoptee Korean Courses

The National Center for the Rights of the Child (NCRC) has established a partnership with King Sejong Institute Seoul in order to provide organized
Korean courses for Korean adoptees to help them establish a deeper connection to their Korean identity.
Course Details
- Online and in-person courses
- In-person courses to take place at the NCRC (G Tower, 71, Sambong-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul)
- Course period: February 26, 2024 ~ June 19, 2024
- Twice a week, 2 hours per session, 30 sessions total
- Qualifications
- Overseas adoptee
- Able to attend more than 80% of classes
- In case of online course, a person who can attend class based on Korean time (KST) in case of overseas resident
- Adoptee’s direct descendent
- Able to attend more than 80% of classes
- A person 19 years of age or older
- A resident of Korea (in-person class only, online class is NOT available)
- Overseas adoptee
- Tuition: FREE
- Apply by January 26, 2024
Course Schedule
Times are in Korean Standard Time (KST). Overseas residents should check the timetable and consider the time different before applying.
Schedule can be changed due to lack of enrollees.

- Adoptee’s Direct Descendent Required Documents
- Application form
- Copy of Korean ID (Resident Registration Card)
- Adoption Certificate of Adoptee parent (issued by adoption agency)
- Family relationship certificate
- A document proving direct family relationship between adoptee and child/applicant. Third generation (adoptee’s grandchildren) are not eligible to apply.
- Certificates can only be submitted in English.
Level Test Schedule
Those applying for Beginner 1A will be directly assigned to the corresponding class without a level test. Those who are NOT a graduate of the previous semester will need to take a level test. The time for the level test is written on the application form. You must attend the selected level test schedule.
