Adoptee Spotlight: Denis Sungho
***ADOPTEE SPOTLIGHT***
Denis Sungho is a Korean-Belgian adoptee who is a renowned guitarist and producer. He has appeared on main stages around the world, including Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Musikvereinin in Vienna, Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels, Cite de la Musique in Paris, and the Berlin Philharmonie. He is the first classical musician in Asia to collaborate with pop artists such as Insooni and Kim Bumsoo. He was also appointed the Artistic Director for the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic Games IOC President event. In March 2019, he had the honor of performing at the Blue House (executive office and official residence of the president in Korea) for the King and Queen of Belgium alongside President Moon Jae In and Ms. Kim Jeong Sook.
Denis has recently released his new album, Island, that features compositions and arrangements by the artist for his daughter, Sooah, who recently turned 1. He added Debussyβs Moonlight and Satieβs Gymnopedie to include some of her βEuropean-Frenchβ identity. Denis hopes to have made a very personal and healing album, full of tenderness and hope.
