Special Lecture on Family and Inheritance Law for Korean Adoptees
G.O.A.βL. in cooperation with GongGam Human Rights Law Foundation and International Association of Korean Lawyers (IAKL) held a special online lecture about common questions and concerns surrounding Korean family registry and inheritance laws for adoptees.
The lecture addressed concerns or confusion surrounding adoptees’ individual family registries AKA “orphan registries” and the legal implications of this form – whether in reunion or not. Such family documents are commonly needed when applying for dual citizenship. It also addressed laws regarding inheritance and the implications of being added to your biological family’s registry, if in reunion.
